USA: Please Vote

If you are reading this and you live in the United States AND it's legal for you to vote, PLEASE, I beg you, go vote today.

When only radicals and extremists vote, we get a radical and extremist government. If you want to live in a moderate, reasonable democracy, moderate reasonable people like yourself must vote. I don't care what your party is or your political views, just that you participate. That is all.

If I only could...

I showed up 10 minutes early to our polling location, was the 12h in line, only to watch a bunch of people scramble because the new DIEBOLD polling machines were not working (or hadn't been set up properly).

So, I _WOULD_ vote if I could. Hopefully when I return this evening the lines won't be super long. Gotta love technology (or at least the incompetent users).

Re: If I only could...
My wife just got back from one of the mentioned voting places and said that the process was fast and slick. Just another view.

its all about the primaries
Its a two party system, its far more important for moderate voters to get out and vote during the primaries. Otherwise, the general election is just a vote between two extremes.

"I don't care what your party is or your political views, just that you participate."

Just so long as you're not a radical or extremist...

They are already participating. Learn to read.

Don't be fucking patronising...I can read perfectly well.
Many radical or extremists do not vote either...but your call out is not to them, it's to the people like yourself who are smarter and better then them...but who clearly aren't smart enough to stop the evil radicals

I don't want to live in a "moderate, reasonable democracy"
moderate, reasonable democracy

I *don't* want to live in a "moderate, reasonable democracy". I have seen more than enough "moderates" to last a few lifetimes, and nothing in government can get done by "reasonable" people. We don't get truly radical politicians in office very often, and I'd like to see more of them. We need more politicians like Ron Paul and Jim Jeffords; we need more than two non-major-party candidates in the Senate. We need Independents, we need Libertarians, we need Greens, we need Reform Party members, we need people who can actually make a difference. Show me an {Independent,Libertarian,Reform} president with an {Independent,Libertarian,Green,Reform} senate and house, and wait a few weeks, and I'll show you a country with its political problems solved.

Re: I don't want to live in a "moderate, reasonable democracy"
Dear American Voters. Please when you vote, take the opinions of the rest of the world in consideration.

What you do in the privacy of your own country is your own choice. But when you soldiers cross your borders to attack a country that has never attacked you, it concerns everybody. But we don't get to vote on the next 'world leader'. Only you lucky Americans can do that.

You are our bosses, and we are your slaves. PLEASE TREAT US MORE GENTLY!

If you are wondering where we politically stand:
- we don't like to be tortured
- we like to live in peace
- you can get our oil for free, but please don't kill us
- please only attack those who attack you, not just some random country
- please treat your own civilians good: give them back their civil rights
- if it is not too much to ask: can we have our civil rights too?
- please stop making Iraq a bigger mess
- please go to Darfur and stop the genocide there (half a milion people died there already, and many more will, until we stop it)

Your sincerly,

The rest of the World
