Thursday night bad practice was last night; I'm still learning to play the drums.
Playing the drums is strange. After the first few times through a movement, the sound and motion become a body memory. If one lets the hands do their thing, it's easy. But if the brain focuses on the action, the body memory isn't used and it falls apart. This is very different from playing the trumpet which required constant cerebral engagement to hit the right notes. There was some body memory involved but for the most part, at least for me, it was like reading sheet music from memory.
After practice, tradition is to hit the local watering hole for beers. We did, of course. The company was good; the hour long stream of cigar smoke, not so good.

that was emotionally stable but had similar signs and symptoms for no
obvious reason.
