Crushed awesome feelings.

This past week I have been totally jazzed about finally completing an three-month-long, piecemeal upgrade of my aging three year old Athlon XP 2600+ based desktop system. The new system is a huge step up and I celebrated by promptly downloading the WoW free trail, the latest NVidia binary drivers, Transgaming Cedega and turning all WoW settings all the way up and running at some 45 FPS at 1600x1200 on my shinny flat planel. Such was my glee. Until now...

I just stumbled on to Ars' System Guide for December. The exact specifications for my new system fall in to their "budget" category. Le sigh... someone always has better toys!

Pay no attention
There will always be a faster computer, if that is what you pay attention to, you've missed the point. A computer should give you 'awesome feelings' if it does everything you want it to and does it fast. :)

So pay no attention if they say your computer is not powerful, if they weren't saying it now they would be in 6 months.
