Working out ...

For about two weeks now, every morning I have been running a mile on our elliptical machine. Following some advice I had found around the blogosphere about getting up in the morning, I am getting up same time every morning and generally trying not to lay in bed for too long. Immediately after getting up, even before my eyes are working properly, I force myself on to the elliptical machine and start running.

I follow that up with some vain indulgence: 30 crunches (it takes less than 60 seconds). And then, to help fight off general back pain, 30 back crunches (where one lays face-down and uses the arms and back muscles to lift the head and chest off the ground).

It sucks; I won't lie. But I like results so I keep focusing on that ... so far, I have noticed that it's easier for me to get up from a long sitting position.

Exercise is, of course, very healthy! It's good for me I'm vain enough that I go to the gym because I like the way it makes me look, lol. I tried the morning thing in college and it just didn't work for me. I found my muscles to be so stiff in the morning from being asleep all night that it was hard to get them stretched and moving.

I have the opportunity to go workout mid-day during my "lunch hour" and then eat lunch while I work. This works really well for me and gives me a nice energy boost for the rest of the day.

Anyway, keep it up! I found for me that the more results I got the more motivated I became.
