seeds

I'm experiencing blog-apathy today but I'll make an entry anyways:

Yesterday, I went to the GLBT Youth Violence Provention Project kick-off party at Louis park. It was hotter than fuck outside but we managed to remain refreshed. It was exciting to see Alvin Brooks speak -- the mayor was there, too.

Towards the end, a guy came up to me. "Jeremy," he said. He told me he'd met me two years ago. I paniked: "Oh shit," I thought. "Am I supposed to know, him?" He said he had longer hair then, so that's probably why I didn't remember him.

Apparently, we went to the showing of the Laramie Project with Walt, Peng and I and someone else. He had come out only two weeks prior. We went to coffee afterwards -- he claims that I was shocked because he hadn't heard about Mathew Sheppard. I guess I must have said something important at that point because the next thing he told me really made my day: "Yea, it was that conversation -- you inspired me to become more involved. I went on from there to start the GLBT student organization at Avila University."

Who knows what becomes of the seeds we plant...
